Recording Sermons on a Budget

We are often asked questions about recording sermons in order to start podcasting -- what's an inexpensive way to do so, and how to do that while maintaining good audio quality?
Good news! We have put together a quick list that can have you broadcasting by your next sermon (considering you have Amazon Prime). Today's list is for any church that does NOT have a sound system from which you can easily record.
- This lavalier mic
- Your phone (in airplane mode, so you don't get interrupted by a phone call or anything) or an ipod touch or some such device
- This app for iPhone or this app for Android
In whichever recording app you use, you will want to output as mp3.
Clip the lapel mic in a good position in order to pick up your voice -- but make special note NOT to set it in a position that will pick up the sounds of fabric rubbing against the microphone.
Just start the recording before you start speaking and then reach into your pocket to get the phone and stop it afterwards. You can upload your sermon via your Membership Vision login though your phone, or you can send the file to your computer and upload it from there.
